Christ the King Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – Southeastern Iowa Synod, with a baptized membership of approximately 900 souls, living throughout Iowa City, Coralville, and the surrounding area.
Our vision statement reads as follows:
God is calling Christ the King Lutheran Church to be servants of Christ. As servants of Christ, our character is to be: loving, faithful, thankful, joyful, and generous. And, as such, we are to worship the Lord in holy splendor, teach them to obey everything that (Jesus has) commanded (us), proclaim Christ crucified, serve the Lord, and love in truth and action.
Wth our offerings of prayer, money, time, and ability, we support the following:
The pervading spirit of Christ the King is to continually look forward to that day when Christ shall be all in all. This spirit is captured in the words of a hymn:
Here in this place the new light is streaming, now is the darkness vanished away;
See in this space our fears and our dreamings brought here to you in the light of this day.
Gather us in and hold us forever, gather us in and make us your own;
Gather us in, all peoples together, fire of love in our flesh and our bone.

We welcome you to Christ the King and to all that we have in Him here!
