STEWARDSHIP 2010
O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name, make known His deeds among the people. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Psalm 105:1, Colossians 3:17. Our stewardship theme calls us to know, share, and be thankful for everything. As we pray about our stewardship we often concentrate on what we are willing to share or give. Deuteronomy 30 tells us to consider what has been given to us - life. We just need to choose life. When we follow the path of our Lord we will be as a tree growing by the stream and bearing fruit. Not choosing this path leads to a life like chaff blown by the wind (Psalm 1). Our reading today illustrates Paul's unwavering choice of the Lord, his depth of faith, and his choice to give all he has including his freedom. The message is consistent among all who follow the Lord, as we read in Luke 14 - being a disciple means giving up all. Have you given up all to the Lord?
